I grew up in a house without a TV. I learned about the world around me through the photographs in Life Magazine, the premier photography publication of its time. Its photographers were my teachers. They told compelling and moving stories about people from all over the world. I discovered that I too wanted to be a story teller.

I've had three major creative passions in my life: acting, the movies, and photography. Each has in one way or another informed the other. When I was a kid, I wanted to make movies, but in those days we didn't have iPhones. However, in the process of taking many pictures, I learned that sometimes, somehow, a whole movie can be in one still photograph. Some of the photos in this collection reflect that, others are more contemplative studies of their subject matter. As you look at them, I invite you to see the story being told. There is one in every photograph.
